Jerry Franklin McCuiston, 69, of Lexington, passed away on Friday, March 18, 2001, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Vogler and Sons, Clemmons. Burial is in Forest Hills Memorial Park in Lexington.
The family will receive friends from noon to 1:45 p.m. before the funeral.
Mr. McCuiston was born in Forsyth County on July, 30, 1941, to Franie Geneva Belton and Clarence Coots McCuiston. He was preceded in death by both of his parents; one son, Jonathon McCuiston; and by one sister, Mickey Hine. Mr. McCuiston is survived by his loving wife, Ann McCuiston; one son, Scott McCuiston of Lexington; and one daughter, Donna McCuiston of Dallas, Texas; two brothers, J.C. McCuiston and Dennis McCuiston; and four sisters, Dorothy Connor, Evalina Schmidt, Dorene Hendrix, and Brenda Viars.
Mr. McCuiston worked for Sears & Roebuck from 1960 until he retired in 1999. After retirement, he enjoyed hands-on-projects at his home in Lexington and his home in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

William “Bill” Gray Hendrix, 78, of Winston-Salem, passed away Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Hanes Baptist Church 4210 Sabrina Lake Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27127 by Pastor Jason Holley. Burial will follow at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery 8710 Meadowbrook Drive, Tobaccoville, NC 27050.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel and other times at the home.
He was born Aug. 11, 1933, in Tobaccoville to William Owen and Evelyn Doub Hendrix. He was retired from Twin City Packing Co. as owner-operator from 1983 to 2002. He was also a model agent for Robertson Realty for seven years until his death. Billy served in the Army and graduated from Old Richmond and Draughn business schools.
Billy was surrounded by family and friends. He was loved by everyone who ever knew him. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather Billy loved working in real estate and made friends with everyone he met.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Dorene McCuiston Hendrix of the home; his daughters, Robin H. Lindsay (Byron) of Pfafftown and Jenny Hendrix of Winston-Salem; his sons, Randy Hendrix (Cindy) of Southern Pines and Tony Hendrix (special friend Debbie Mickles) of Winston-Salem; his grandchildren, Brooke Grooms (Ryan), Dusty Lindsay, Ryan Henry, Halee Henry, Austin Henry, Gray Hendrix and Will Hendrix; his great-grandchildren, Caleb Lindsay and Payton Grooms; his sisters, Nancy H. Tucker (Roy), Carolyn Sechriest of Tobaccoville and Pat Roberson (Harold) of Clemmons; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like memorials directed to Hanes Baptist Church/Youth Dept., 4210 Sabrina Lake Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27127.
The family would like to thank the staff on the fifth, sixth and eighth floor Palliative Care Unit.
