TECUMSEH, Okla. —
Myrtle R. McCuistion, 72, of Tecumseh, passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at her home.
She was born Aug. 3, 1939, to Vernon B. and Ida Myrtle (Byerly) Stobaugh in Sasakwa.
Myrtle attended school in Sasakwa and Tulare, Calif.
She married Robert McCuistion on May 5, 1961 in Santa Ana, Calif.
Myrtle moved to Norco, Calif., and lived there for 20 years, later moving to Tulare, where she lived for 10 years. She returned to Oklahoma in May 2000, living in Macomb and settling in Tecumseh in 2005, and she has been a resident ever since.
Myrtle’s greatest joy in life was taking care of her home and family. Her favorite pastime was visiting on the phone. She loved checking on the health, welfare and safety of friends and relatives in her community. She was baptized into the Church of Christ in 1971.
Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Billy Joe and Leslie Stobaugh; sisters, Lorene Kermode and Patsy Edwards; and grandson, Tyler McCuistion.
She is survived by her husband, Robert McCuistion, of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Carrie A. McCuistion of Riverside, Calif., and Donald and Carrie I. McCuistion of Chandler; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many extended family and friends.
Visitation will begin 9 a.m., Thursday, May 3, and continue through service time. Service will be 10 a.m., Friday, May 4, at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Mansuer, Wanette Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
