Martha Jane Grant, 87, of Palestine, Texas and formerly of Monticello, Arkansas passed away Thursday, February 2008 at Cartmell Home for Aged. She was born Nov. 19, 1920 in Monticello. She was a retired medical record librarian and a member and secretary of First Baptist Church in Monticello. She was the daughter of the late Mark Tedder and Jane McQuiston Tedder. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, John William Grant; brother, Richard Mark Tedder; and a granddaughter, Terri Lee Nichols. Survivors include one daughter, Denitia Nichols of Palestine; granddaughters, Janet Lynn Cunningham of Hamburg and Jana Lee Cunningham of Palestine; great-granddaughters, Krystal Elise Deal of Palestine, and Karlee Marie Ezell of Hamburg; one great-great-granddaughter, Jacee Michelle Ezell; several beloved nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel with Rev. Dennis Dodson officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery by Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home.
