Perry E. McCuistion, 77, passed awayTuesday, Aug. 29, 2011 after a lengthy illness. Perry was born May 5, 1934, inNacogdoches, Texas, to O.E. and Lizzie Lee (Burnett) McCuistion. They moved tothe Jackson County area when Perry was young and he graduated from Victory HighSchool in May 1952. He married Norma Gean Welch on Nov. 3, 1955, in Vernon,Texas.
Perry and Norma lived in Olustee where they raised three sons. Perry was amember of the Olustee First Baptist Church and served on the Olustee Board ofTrustees. He was a long leader at the Church of many years. He loved music andplayed in a gospel band for several years. Perry worked as a custodian at theOlustee Public School for 13 years and built custom homes in his spare time. Hewas an active athlete until becoming disabled at the age of 52.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Norma; one son, RonnieMcCuistion; one brother, Edward Lynn McCuistion; and a sister, Estelene Bales.
He is survived by two sons, Danny McCuistion and wife Elizabeth of Altus, andRandy McCuistion of New Orleans, La; four grandchildren, Whitney McCuistion ofClinton, Chelsea McCuistion of Weatherford, Jordyn McCuistion of Altus, andKaden McCuistion of Altus; two sisters, Barbara Hughes of Antlers, and LillianBriseno and husband Rick of Lawton; one brother, Donald McCuistion and wifeLaverne of Cordell; brother-in-law, Bobby Welch and wife Darinda;sisters-in-law, Patsy Cox and husband Johnny, Virginia Snyder and husband Jack,Betty Bornheim, and Judy Waller; and many nieces, nephews and a host offriends.
Memorial services have been scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Saturday at the FirstBaptist Church in Olustee with the Rev. Max Gunn officiating.

Edna Estelline Bales, 77 of Eula, died Friday, Aug. 20, 2004, at an Abilene hospital.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 23 at Bailey Chapel in Clyde with Rev. Clayton Pennington officiating under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.
Mrs. Bales was born May 13, 1927 in Nacogdoches, Texas to Olfin Emmanuel and Lizzie Lee (Burnett) McCuistion. She attended school in Nacogdoches. She married Harry Bales in Vernon on February 6, 1952. They moved to Eula from Hamby in 1973. Mrs. Bales was a loving and faithful wife and mother to her family. In addition, she also raised a grandchild, Patrick Hill, as if he were her son. She had a deep love for animals and enjoyed gardening immensely. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Edward McCuistion.

Harry G. Bales, 77, of Eula, died Saturday, April 15, 2006 at a local hospital.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clayton Pennington officiating. Burial will follow in the Eula Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.
Mr. Bales was born April 29, 1928, in Anson, to Wesley G. and Edna Culpepper Bales. lie grew up and attended school in the Hanah community. He was the widower of Estelline McCuistion whom he married on February 6, 1952, in Vernon. They moved to Eula from Hamby in 1973. He retired from Lone Star Gas as a crew leader after 43 years of service. He was a Baptist.
