      Lisa A. Hazen McQuiston, 48, of 300 Clearvue Drive, Ellwood City (North Sewickley Township), passed into the arms of Jesus peacefully surrounded by her family at UPMC Montefiore Hospital in Pittsburgh on Wednesday morning, December 9, 2009. She was born in Ellwood City on June 18, 1961, to Russell "Skip" Hazen Jr. and Karen Amalong Hazen of North Sewickley Township. She was a graduate of Riverside High School, class of 1979, and was a member of the Calvin Presbyterian Church.

      Lisa had a love of horses that started with her first pony as a child and continued through her adult life with her mini horses.

      In addition to her parents, she is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth (and Peter) Grossman of Franklin Township, and Kyleigh (and Matt) Hiles of East Palestine, OH. Also surviving are two grandsons, Andrew Grossman and Shawn Hiles, and one sister and brother-in-law, Sheri Hazen-Streitman (and William) of Center Township.

      She is also survived by paternal grandmother, Anna Hazen of Ellwood City, and longtime friend, Clarence Bartlett.

      She was preceded in death by an infant son, Michael James McQuiston, (1980); a brother, David Shawn Hazen, (1994); maternal grandparents, Frieda (1994) and Elvey Amalong (1965), and paternal grandparents, Caroline (1983) and Russell Hazen Sr. (2002).

      The family will receive friends for a short time before a Memorial Celebration of Life service at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 12, 2009, at Calvin Presbyterian Church, 615 Crescent Ave., Ellwood City, officiated by the Rev. James Latta.

      Arrangements have been entrusted to the TURNER FUNERAL HOME OF ELLWOOD CITY, Sixth Street at Park Avenue.
