Joe Don Holland, age 86, of Tunnel Hill, GA, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2023 at his residence.
He is preceded in death by parents, Guy and Thelma Holland of Dyersburg, Tn.; sister and brother-in-law, Agnes Ann and Tommy Reed.
Joe Don was very active in the Christian Fellowship of Assembly in Tunnel Hill, Ga. He was a GrandMaster of the Dalton Masonic Temple F & AM #105. He was also a Shriner and a member of the local Dalton Shrine Club mini patrol motorcycle corp. Joe Don loved the hobby of metal detecting. He became an expert at searching for relics and old coins. He was a member of the Civil War Roundtable and conducted Civil War Re-Enactments for the Tunnel Hill Historical Society.
Mr. Holland is survived by his loving wife, Mary Emily Moody Holland; son and daughter-in-law, Joe Alexander and Marcia Holland of Gadsden, AL; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Lynn and Danny Albertson of Dalton, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Sherry and Brad Burton of Jackson, TN.; grandchildren, Amanda Holland (Chas) Kilgore, Lindsey Holland (Corey) Henderson, Joseph Preston (Amy) Holland, Emily Albertson (Eric) Dillard, Daniel (Brooke) Albertson; great grandchildren, Jackson, Myles, Reagan, Finley, Bentley, Hudson, Harrison, Aubrey, Kate, Sawyer, Cooper, Jaycee, Ben.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, July 3, 2023 at 1:00 pm at the Rocky Face Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Daniel R. Hocker of Tunnel Hill and Rev. Les Connell of Rome, GA officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, July 3, from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
Entombment will be at West Hill Cemetery.
