Alma C. McCuiston "Fuzzy" Dekle
LABELLE - Alma McCuiston Dekle passed away peacefully on May 30, 2014 surrounded by her family. She was born on July 26, 1924 in Amelia County, Virginia to Clarence M. McCuiston and Ida Burke McCuiston. She moved to Ft. Myers in 1952 where she married John Dekle, Jr. and raised her family. She moved to LaBelle in 1991 to be near her daughter and (pending) granddaughter. Alma was an avid gardener. She loved to crochet and spent countless hours making afghans for friends and family, as well as lap throws for a Prayer Shawl Ministry in Ft. Myers. In her younger days she loved to sew, ride horses, hunt and fish with her family, and shoot skeet. Alma was predeceased by her parents and husband, as well as her sister, Louise Thompson. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Davis; son John "Jake" Dekle (Glynis); granddaughters, Savannah and Jessie; her brother, Glenn and several nieces and nephews. She was a devoted mother and friend and will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Caloosa Baptist Church, 137 Church Way, LaBelle. Viewing will be at 1 p.m. with the service following at 2 p.m. Burial will follow, at Ft. Denaud Cemetery. Stephen Williams, Senior Chaplain, MDiv, Baptist Medical Center, Jacksonville, Fla., will officiate.
