- LuAnn Culver Key, born Nov, 16, 1946 in Huntsville, AL, to James K. Key and LuAlice C. Key. She
graduated from Lyons Township High School in LaGrange, IL. She attended the University of Tampa
and received an A.S. in Accounting from West Palm Beach Jr. College. She also received and AS in
Electronics from ITT Tampa. She lived with her life partner Lynne F. Bash from 1975 until her death
Sept. 28, 2017.
She had an extensive extended family that included sons, James Yohe and David Shelfer and wife,
Lauren; daughter, Mylinda Grimsley and husband, Tim; grandchildren, Michael, Robert, Alexander,
Jerid, Haley, Ryder, and Dylan.
She worked in retail and was Warehouse Delivery Manager for HH Greg for 10 years. She worked
for Dollar General, Nextel Partners, Sams Club and Kohls in Bay County. She also made and sold
jewelry with her partner. The company was called Treasured Whimsies and they attended the
Waterfront Farmers Market first at Saint Andrews and then at Captain Anderson's when the market
was moved there.
LuAnn was a strong leader that people sought out for advice, wisdom, and kindness. She did not
wish to have a funeral but instead a party to celebrate her life. Please contact her family for details.
LuAnn was a direct descendant of Mary Todd Lincoln on her mother's side and Francis Scott Key on
her father's side.
