Harold R. Kendall, 87, Greentown, died 12:20 p.m. Friday, July 7, 2006, at Century Villa Health Care Center. He was born April 29, 1919, in Howard County, the son of William Harvey and Cora Dell (Templin) Kendall. He married Mary (Spangler) on Nov. 20, 1948. She passed away May 16, 1983.
He was a retired carpenter and farmer. He was a 1938 graduate of Howard Township High School. He served in the Army during World War II. He attended Kokomo Zion United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a son, Jerry Kendall and wife, Diana, Greentown; a daughter, Judy Hamilton and husband, Doug, Kokomo; a daughter-in-law, Ramona Kendall, Kokomo; two sisters, Mary Whitezel, Westfield, Martha Parker, Glendale, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five step grandchildren and seven step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by both parents; his wife; one son, David Kendall; three brothers, John Kendall, Ren Kendall, Fred Kendall; and two sisters, Fern Kendall and Merle Meadors.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Kokomo Zion United Methodist Church, 5051 E. Road 400 North, Kokomo. The Rev. John Hogsett will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post 317. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church. Arrangements are being handled by Hasler-Stout Funeral Home, Greentown. Memorials may be made to Kokomo Zion United Methodist Church building fund or the American Cancer Society with envelopes provided.
