    • Graveside services for Vivian G. Chandler, 97, Tyler, are scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in Rose Hill Cemetery with Dan Peeler officiating under direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home, Tyler.

      Mrs. Chandler died Jan. 6, 2008, in Mineola.

      She was born Feb. 8, 1910, in Smith County to W.H. and Emma Northcutt Gourley. She attended Tyler schools. In the 1950s, she and her family traveled to India, where her husband worked with the natives teaching agriculture. She was a homemaker and a volunteer at First Christian Church, where she was an elder emeritus.

      She was preceded in death by a sister, Carra Trice; daughter, Marilyn Pope; son, Tommy G. Pope; and infant son, Robert Milton Pope.

      Survivors include daughters, Jean Fox, Lake Fork, and Janis Hallmark, New Boston; sister, Lotis Towles, Bossier City, La.; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; nieces and nephews.
