Long and Catherine T. Skaggs Long (both buried in San Luis Obispo, Calif) Obit from the Madison County Record dated Feb 22, 1923 "Thomas G. Long, whose death at Hot Springs on the 12th inst. was reported briefly by the Record last week, was born at Huntsville, Ark, April 15, 1866, and spent his life in this county with the exception of a short stay in California and his last few years residence at Fayetteville. He was the oldest son of Rev. and Mrs. John C. Long, both deceased, who moved from here to California about thirty years ago. On Dec. 9, 1988 he was married to Miss Dove Hayes and she survives him as also do four sons and three daughters - Earl, Lee, Will, Lawrence, Cloe, Jewell and Lena - and there is yet living four of his brothers, viz: George of Susanville, Calif, Chesley and John of San Louis Obispo, Calif., and Hill of Philadelphia, Penn. Mr. Long was stricken several months ago with Bright's disease but the seriousness of his afiliction was not known even to himself until last November and since that time but little hope was had for his recovery; nevertheless everything possible was done for his relief by his home physicians and he had been taken to Hot Springs for special treatment only a few days before his death.
