      Vina Lee (Gebbers) Barber
      Brewster, WA
      Vina was born in Japton, AR on January 19, 1926; her parents were Charles P. McChristian and Hazel (Watkins) McChristian. Vina married Roy Gebbers in 1945. They made their living raising apples in the family orchard. Vina packed apples for many years in a local warehouse in Pateros, WA. Roy passed away in 1982. Vina met and married Don Barber on June 30, 1990. Our beloved Vina passed away on June 11, 2011, in the Brewster Hospital from a brief illness, with her loving family by her side.
      Vina is survived by her husband of 21 years, Don; two daughters, Georgia (Ron) Gelstin and Carole (Mike) Knowlton, all of Brewster; and four precious grandchildren, Susan and Lynn Gelstin of Brewster, Debbie Knowlton of Brewster and Jason (Melissa) Knowlton of Pasco, WA. Vina doted and loved her three great-grandsons, Brady and Luke Knowlton and Damian Vargas. Vina leaves her loving sisters, Velma (Jerry) Bryant of Pateros, Lexie Whiteman of Stockton, CA and Vicki (Charles) Hull of Brewster. She is also survived by four step-children, Curtis Barber of Tacoma, WA, Calvin (Linda) Barber of Bonney Lake, WA, Jeff (Sue) Barber of Enumclaw, WA and Vanessa Barber of Enumclaw; and Ivy (Randy) Balogh of Bonney Lake, WA. She is also survived by two sisters; three brothers; and numerous nieces and nephews.
      Our beloved "Vinie" will always be remembered for her quiet, gentle nature. She loved us all to the fullest. She enjoyed her garden full of vegetables (especially tomatoes). She was always sharing the fruits of her labor with family and friends. She will be missed by her family and friends. We Love You, "Vinie!"
      A Tribute Service for Vina Barber will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 18, 2011, at Barnes Chapel in Brewster, WA. Barnes Chapel is entrusted with the arrangements.
