Roberta Irene Lenox Bowling McQuiston, 87, of Decatur died Tuesday, March 18, 2014, in NHC Health Care in Moulton.
Mrs. McQuiston was born Feb. 7, 1927, in Morgan County to James M. and Vernetta Abercrombie Lenox. She was married to Glenn L. Bowling, who preceded her in death in 1981, and John H. McQuiston, who preceded her in death in 2011.
She was a retired educator in the Morgan County School System.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Judy and Steve Caudle; stepsons and daughters-in-laws: John and Donna McQuiston and Steve and Linda McQuiston; stepdaughters and son-in-law: Karan and James Stapler and Sharon Langley; brothers and sisters-in-law: Herbert and Joyce Lenox, Lester and Ruby Lenox, Joe and Jackie Lenox and Jimmy and JoAnn Lenox; sisters and brothers-in-law: Sue and Bob Curlee and Conda and Chris Spyropoulos; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; nine step great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother: Albert Lenox.
The funeral was at noon, Saturday, March 22, 2014, at New Canaan Baptist Church in Morgan County with Eldridge Criscoe and Shane Wheeler officiating. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel directing.
Pallbearers were her grandsons.
