    • Annie died by electrocution. "For last wishes, she asked only that her
      death-row companion, a small black and white puppy, be given to her niece, and that she be buried with a crucifix in her left hand."

      She was executed on 28 November 1942, becoming the first and only woman to ever be electrocuted in the State of Louisiana.
