    • He was shot and killed by an insane man named Scott. Scott thought John, then a constable, had a warrant for his (Scott's) arrest. John McQuiston did not have such a warrant. John McQuistion was buried on his farm opposite the McQuiston School House. The burying ground is now known as the McQuiston Cemetery.
