THE PARIS MORNING NEWS, December 8, 1918: 'Mrs. Elizabeth McCuistion Miers, the wife of Hal Miers, a well known young man of Paris who is engaged in the cotton business, died at the Sanitarium at 5 o'clock yesterday morning after a very brief illness from pneumonia following influenza. She was ill only about two days. The announcement of her death came as a very great shock to her friends and the friends of the family, and was received with profound sorrow by the people of the city among whom she was a favorite on account of her amiability and attractiveness. She was twenty-eight years old and was born in Sherman, but had spent nearly all of her life in Paris. She was the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. L. McCuistion and was married to Mr. Miers seven years ago. Besides her husband and parents she is survived by two sisters, Mrs. J. W. Bell of Paris and Mrs. Austin Porter of Roswell, NM. The funeral service will be held at 3 o'clock this afternoon at the home of Mrs. Marjorie Moore on Clarksville street, and will be conducted by Dr. J. K. Black and Rev. R. P. Shular. The burial will be at Evergreen cemetery.'
