HUMBERG, William Mac, of St. Louis, Missouri, was born May 20, 1928 in St. Louis, Missouri to William H. and Ruth A. (nee McCuistion) Humberg and entered into rest Saturday, August 28, 2021 at the age of 93 years, 3 months and 8 days.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Iona L. (nee Morris) Humberg, daughters Melisa Ann Humberg and Diane Sealy, sister Sharon Griffin Marsh, son-in-law William "Bill" Field, and former wife Betty Ann Seavers (mother of Melisa and Lynn).
He is survived by daughters, Lynn Humberg Field, Gloria (Scott) Fullerton, six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren, along with numerous extended family and friends.
Bill served proudly and with distinction in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne during World War II.
He graduated from Washington University with a degree in English. A master wordsmith throughout his life, he worked as a journalist and then as an executive in communications areas for Christian Board of Publication, Olin Corp., Decor Magazine, and then as co-founder and partner (with Iona) of MarketArt, which promoted artists and galleries from around the world to U.S markets.
Bill was an avid sailor, an active member of the Dardenne Prairie Presbyterian church, a lover of art and music, and a proud and devoted father and grandfather. He was known for his charisma, creativity, whip-smart intelligence, and diplomacy. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
