CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Phillip "Phil" Wayne McCuiston, 60, a resident of Charleston, died at 7:21 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, 2006, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Nov. 28, 1945, in Cairo, Ill., to the late Robert Carroll McCuiston and Norma Rose McCuiston Bagavich. He had lived in Charleston most of his life and was employed with Davis Lumber Co. in East Prairie, Mo. As a member of the SEMO Football Officials Association he served as the head referee and back judge at games for 25 years. He was a member of the Southside Baptist Church in Charleston, the Heartland Writer's Guild and had received certification as a Missouri Master Gardener through the Missouri University Outreach Extension program.
On March 11, 1965, he married Ann Richardson, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and David Brewer II, Stefanie and Jerry Self, all of Charleston; two brothers, Bob McCuiston of Kennett, Bud Reynolds of Cocoa Beach, Fla; two sisters, Kay McCuiston Grimes of Lake Dallas, Texas and Jean Reynolds Rien of Merritt Island, Fla.; three grandchildren, Natalie Brewer, Camille Brewer and Marshall Self, all of Charleston.
A brother, Richard Lyons, preceded him in death.
Family and friends will assemble at the IOOF Cemetery for graveside services at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 16, 2006. The Rev. Roger Jespersen, pastor of the United Methodist Church of Charleston, will officiate.
Interment will follow under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home.
