      WALNUT COVE MattieNorene McCuiston Calhoun went home to be with the Lord early Sunday morning,October 8, 2017 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born on August 25,1929 in Guilford County to the late June and Mary Satterfield McCuiston. Mattiewas retired from Hicks Pharmacy. She was a member of Mt. Carmel UnitedMethodist Church, where she sang in the choir. Mattie was very devoted to herchurch and considered it a second home. She also enjoyed camping and fishing inher spare time. In addition to her parents, Mattie was preceded in death by herhusband, Raymond Wesley Calhoun; two sisters; and three brothers. She issurvived by her loving son, Don Calhoun; granddaughter, Amanda Britt (Jamie);two great-grandchildren, Jacob Hunter and Caleb Britt; special nieces, PeggySimpson and Jo Ann Bullock. A 3 p.m. funeral service will be held on Tuesday,October 10, 2017 at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church with Rev. Craig Tothofficiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receivefriends on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 from 2 until 3 p.m. at Mt. Carmel UnitedMethodist Church, and following the service in the church fellowship hall,where refreshments and fellowship will be provided. The family would especiallylike to thank Peggy and Jo Ann for helping them get through the difficulttransition and for their compassion and love shown to Mattie. In lieu offlowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, 9088 MtCarmel Rd., Stokesdale, NC 27357. Online condolences may be made at www.burroughsfuneralhome.com.       MCCUISTON, THOMAS

      THOMAS CALVIN MCCUISTON KERNERSVILLE Mr. Thomas Calvin McCuiston, 87, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2014, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Mr. Mc Cuiston's funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 5, at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. Burial with military honors will follow in the church cemetery. A Guilford County native, Mr. McCuiston was born on January 13, 1927, the son of the late June Donald and Mary Sue Satterfield McCuiston. He was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, and a proud veteran of the US Army. He retired from Rice Toyota where he did body work. On April 4, 1980, he married Margaret James. Surviving are his wife of thirty-three years Margaret McCuiston of the home; eight children William Dean Vogt and his wife, Janie, Lonnie Gray Vogt, Gary Wayne Vogt and wife, Debbie, Bruce Allen Vogt and wife, Betty, all of Kernersville, David Steven Vogt and wife, Janie, of Wentworth, Charles Richard Vogt of Kernersville, Kathy Hughes and her husband, Brian, of Selma, Alabama, and Larry Scott of Winston-Salem; a sister Madeline Calhoun of Walnut Cove; ten grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers Billy McCuiston and James McCuiston; and sisters Delilah Holland and Darlene Wiggs. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5 until 7 p.m. at Forbis & Dick Brooke Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to the Kate B.
