- Tampa, Florida- Frances Christina McCuiston age 98 of Tampa, Florida passed away on Saturday June 10, 2023. She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on January 18, 1925. Frances was the daughter of Linnaus A.F. Henderson and Mable Esther (Staats) Henderson. She spent her younger years in Salem, New Jersey and graduated from Salem High School. Frances started her working years as a Chemical Technician with Dupont. She later relocated to Florida and enjoyed waitressing. This is when she met the love of her life, Carlos F. McCuiston, and they married on April 21, 1950. She was a devoted mother and homemaker, member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and a Troop Leader for the Girl Scouts of America. Frances enjoyed dancing to the Big Bands and going to the Florida beaches. She had a passion for sewing, crafting, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Frances was predeceased by her husband Carlos F. McCuiston, her mother Mable Barnes, brothers Jack “Jackie” Stanton and William “Billy” Stanton, and sister Stella “Patty” Lacy.
She is survived by her daughter Linda Scoville, grandson Walter L. Scoville IV, granddaughter Reagan C. Lonon and husband Casey, as well as brother and sister-in-law Richard and Penny Stanton.
Frances will be lovingly remembered by friends and family as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. We will miss you and love you always.
A time of visitation will be held on Monday June 19, 2023 from 12:30PM to 1:30PM in the Blount & Curry Funeral Home 605 S. MacDill Avenue Tampa, Florida. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1:30PM with Rev. Angel Luis Rodriguez officiating. Interment will be at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park 4202 E. Lake Ave. Tampa, Florida with an ETA of 3:00PM in the cemetery.
