    • Mary Elizabeth had blue eyes and straight brown hair, that she wore in a bun. She carded her own wool and spun it on a spinning whell, dying the yarn by dipping it into walnut dye to turn it shades of orange and butternut brown. She then wove the material on a loom to make clothes for her family. She loved flowers and dipped snuff.

      Mary Elizabeth and Thomas lived in a big four room house with a dog trot and a big front porch.
