      Doris McCuistion

      Doris McCuistion, Irving resident, died on August 29, 2015 at age 85. She was born to John Lewis Ashton and Edna Louise (Gideon) Ashton on October 13, 1929. Doris enjoyed a career as a bookkeeper until her retirement from Oryx Energy. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Irving.

      Doris is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband of 61 years, Wayne Edward McCuistion in 2008 and grandson Michael Wayne Coffman.

      Left to cherish her memory are her son John McCuistion and his wife Jan of Irving; daughter Luona Hemmons and husband Lionel of Athens; six grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren; sisters Valarie Owen and Johnnye Blakeley both of Irving, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

      A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 in Brown's Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Mark Farish officiating. Interment immediately following at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 to 11:00 AM just prior to the service and requests memorial donations to Children's Medical Center in care of Children's Cancer. The family wishes to express appreciation to the owners and all of the caregivers at Avante Rehab Center for their kindness and care of our mother.
