Mary R. (McQuiston) (Donaldson) Roberts
Roberts, Mrs. Mary R., (Donaldson) (nee McQuiston) Saginaw, Michigan Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at St. Francis Home. Age 93 years. The daughter of the late Lester and Lydia (Graham) McQuiston, Mary was born January 13, 1924 in Saginaw, Michigan. She married Earl Donaldson on August 18, 1945. He predeceased her on November 6, 1996. Mary then married Ralph K. Roberts on February 14, 2004. He predeceased her June 1, 2014. Mary was employed as a teacher at Shields Elementary School and Havens School for several years and was a member of the READ Program. She was also a member of Second Presbyterian Church, had sung in the church choir, taught Sunday school and served as a Deacon. Mary was a past member of Sounds of Harmony Chorus, enjoyed music, bowling and traveling and loved time spent with children. Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Jerry Druelle, Saginaw; a daughter-in-law, Sue Hamilton, Sturgis; four grandchildren, Dustin Donaldson, Jeremy (Julie) Druelle, Courtney and Steve Ross, Brianne Donaldson; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Shirley McQuiston, Dora Moore and Shirley Picardi; several nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by a son, Tom Donaldson, a grandson, Brent A. Donaldson, and by two brothers and three sisters, Bill and Jim McQuiston, Irene Coffel, Evelyn Anderson and Edna Kolton. Funeral Service will take place 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Second Presbyterian Church, 2665 Midland Rd. in Saginaw. Mary's nephew, Rev. Bob Donaldson will officiate with burial in Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Friday, February 10, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and at Second Presbyterian Church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Parkinson's Foundation or Second Presbyterian Church.
