      Frances Jeanette Whiteside McQuistion
      Frances Jeanette Whiteside McQuistion, 91, of Butler passed away at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice, Butler.She was born on Sept. 25, 1922, in Butler to the late William James Whiteside and Frances Dunn Whiteside.Jeanette was a member of the Hill United Presbyterian Church following the closing of the Calvary Presbyterian Church. She was a homemaker and a secretary for the federal government in Washington, D.C., and T.W. Phillips Gas and Oil Co. Jeanette also worked for the Faith United Presbyterian Church and ended her career at the county treasurer's office. She was the president of the Sunnyview Auxiliary and was active in her church Bible study group. She loved and treasured her family.Mrs. McQuistion is survived by her two daughters, Carla Freund and her husband, Robert, of Pittsburgh and Mary Beth McQuistion of Butler; her grandson, Brett Robert Freund of Minneapolis, Minn.; her granddaughter, Laura Beth Freund of Boulder, Colo.; several nieces and nephews; and a number of great-nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl H. McQuistion, who she married on Feb. 14, 1953, and who passed away on Jan. 16, 1984, and by her two brothers, Richard and Donald Whiteside.McQuistion- The friends of Frances Jeanette Whiteside McQuistion, who passed away Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Clark Swayer of the Hill United Presbyterian Church officiating. Private burial will take place in Butler County Memorial Park.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Seneca Hills Bible Conference, 276 Damascus Road, Polk, PA 16342-4909.
