      Perry E. McCuistion, 77, passed awayTuesday, Aug. 29, 2011 after a lengthy illness. Perry was born May 5, 1934, inNacogdoches, Texas, to O.E. and Lizzie Lee (Burnett) McCuistion. They moved tothe Jackson County area when Perry was young and he graduated from Victory HighSchool in May 1952. He married Norma Gean Welch on Nov. 3, 1955, in Vernon,Texas.

      Perry and Norma lived in Olustee where they raised three sons. Perry was amember of the Olustee First Baptist Church and served on the Olustee Board ofTrustees. He was a long leader at the Church of many years. He loved music andplayed in a gospel band for several years. Perry worked as a custodian at theOlustee Public School for 13 years and built custom homes in his spare time. Hewas an active athlete until becoming disabled at the age of 52.

      He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Norma; one son, RonnieMcCuistion; one brother, Edward Lynn McCuistion; and a sister, Estelene Bales.

      He is survived by two sons, Danny McCuistion and wife Elizabeth of Altus, andRandy McCuistion of New Orleans, La; four grandchildren, Whitney McCuistion ofClinton, Chelsea McCuistion of Weatherford, Jordyn McCuistion of Altus, andKaden McCuistion of Altus; two sisters, Barbara Hughes of Antlers, and LillianBriseno and husband Rick of Lawton; one brother, Donald McCuistion and wifeLaverne of Cordell; brother-in-law, Bobby Welch and wife Darinda;sisters-in-law, Patsy Cox and husband Johnny, Virginia Snyder and husband Jack,Betty Bornheim, and Judy Waller; and many nieces, nephews and a host offriends.

      Memorial services have been scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Saturday at the FirstBaptist Church in Olustee with the Rev. Max Gunn officiating.
