552 | Dahl Torres 'Mac' McChristian died peacefully on Tuesday of natural causes at the age of 76. Dahl was born a member of the Cherokee Nation and went on to make his home in Pasadena, MD, Tucson, AZ and Miraflores, Peru. Mac is survived by his wife Rosa E. McChristian, daughters Lisa Ann Sanders and Stephanie Heisler, and grandchildren Wayne Lewis Milburn Jr., Ryan Thomas Milburn, and Adelaide Sanders. He was predeceased by his daughter Tracey Lynn Milburn and son Robert Thomas McChristian. Mac enlisted in the U.S. Navy August 1960 and was honorably discharged October 1973 with several awards. During his time in service Mac deployed several times with the Seventh Fleet. Mac later retired from the U.S. Customs Service as a Special Agent. Mac enjoyed his retirement and fell in love with Peru, which became his second home and where he met his beautiful wife. Mac was an aging warrior to the end and lived his life as though each day was his last. He lived and died the same way – on his own terms. 553 | Dale Monroe Tipton died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014, at the age of 68. Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014, at Wofford Cemetery in Catoosa. He was born Sept. 28, 1946, in Hochatown, to Monroe Tipton and Edna Allen. Dale had a craft for woodwork. He would make benches, shelves, yard art and chairs. Dale also enjoyed hunting deer, fishing and visiting his cabin in the mountains. His strong Christian faith shined through his gospel singing. In 1964, Dale met and married the love of his life, Sue. Together, they started a beautiful family. Dale will be dearly missed by many. Survivors include: his wife of 50 years, Sue Tipton; children, Jerry Tipton and wife Tami, and Justin and Joey Tipton; grandchildren, Jeremy Tipton and wife Lanie, Bethany Conaway and husband Alex, and Jessica, Jonathon, Jacob and Hannah Tipton; great grandchild, Cole Conaway; father, M.M. Born in Ellwood City on September 30, 1942, Danny was the son of the late Olin and Grace Lewis McQuiston. He married the former Sharon Hogue on January 17, 1965. A 1961 graduate of Lincoln High School, Danny also attended Community College of Beaver County. He was a Veteran of the Air Force, serving from 1961 through 1965. Danny worked at B&W for twenty-three years and then worked at Butler Refrigerated Meats for twelve. Presbyterian by faith, Danny was an avid golfer, he enjoyed boating and bird watching. In his younger days, he was an avid hunter, fisherman, hiker and camper. Danny also volunteered with Meals on Wheels and Boy Scouts of America. Danny is survived by his wife, Sharon McQuiston of Wayne Township, a son, Keith (Stephanie) McQuiston of Beaver Falls, a daughter, Kirby (Kip) Huffman of Zelienople, a son, Kevin (Tammy) McQuiston of Tionesta, a brother, Gerald (Linda) McQuiston of Ellwood City, a sister-in-law, Raylene McQuiston of Ellwood City, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and his dog, Molly. 560 | DANNY MCCUISTION OBITUARY Danny Ray McCuistion, 64, Formerly of Altus, Oklahoma, passed unexpectedly on September 4th, 2022. He suffered a massive heart attack while surrounded by family. They were living out a life-long dream of a bucket list trip to Portland, Maine. Danny was born on February 27, 1958 in Altus, Oklahoma to Perry Emmanuel McCuistion and Norma Gean McCuistion. His family put roots down in Olustee, Oklahoma. Danny was an incredible athlete and played on the baseball and basketball team in Olustee and later went on to play baseball for Western Oklahoma State College. Soon after graduating high school, Danny went to work with his mentor and friend, former senator, Herschal Crow, at the state capitol in Oklahoma City. After working with Herschal, Danny went back to his hometown, Olustee, to serve as a council member, and later became mayor of Olustee. While working as mayor, Danny worked as a branch manger of the Olustee bank until he went back to university to continue his education. After earning his bachelor's degree in Accounting from Southwestern Oklahoma State University, he went on to work at the lending firm, Farm Credit, in Altus, Oklahoma. Danny decided after leaving Farm Credit to pursue a career in banking. While living in Altus, Danny served on the council of Altus, Oklahoma where he did many projects to serve his community such as, the chairman for the building of the Imagination Station, the cleaning p of Altus, and crime-stoppers. He was also involved in many organizations including the Military Affairs Committee, Main Street Committee, Leadership Thirty, Foundations of the Western Oklahoma State College, and the Rotary Club of Altus. He ended his career working as the financial officer for Lee Office Equipment in Altus, Oklahoma until he finally retired. Of all his wonderful accomplishments in life, his biggest accomplishment was being a devout husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He was so proud of his wife, two daughters and son-on-law, his grandson and his many nieces ad nephews. If you knew Danny, you knew his family. He did not know a stranger and would do anything and everything for those he loved. He took the time to show every loved one in his life his wisdom and knowledge. Every moment was a teachable moment in Danny's eyes. He was a devoted Christian, he loved telling all of his relatives about the birth of our Lord and Savior, and reading scripture during the holidays. Danny loved to golf with his girls and son-in-law, fish with his uncle Bobby, watch football games with his nephews, and travel the countryside with his wife, Liz. Danny was preceded in death by his grandparents, O.E. and Lizzie McCuistion and Alta and Fate Welch; his parents, Perry and Norma McCuistion; and his brothers, Ronnie and Randy McCuistion. He was an avid outdoorsman who spent over fifty years traveling to the family hunting camp in Clinton County, Pennsylvania. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends there. You could always count on him leaving the day after Thanksgiving for deer season. When he wasn't at the cabin, you often found him outside working around his Downingtown property and keeping an eye on the local wildlife. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Betty Ann (Utz), his son David, Jr. (Erin) of West Chester, Pennsylvania and Steven (Danielle) of Stockton, NJ, and daughter Deborah Dillon (Mark) of Haslett, Michigan. He was known as "Pop-Pop" to his seven grandchildren: David III and Michael McQuiston of West Chester, Madison Leap, Brady and Alex McQuiston from Stockton, N.J., and Jack and Della Dillon from Haslett, Michigan. Being the oldest of 11 children, an abundance of nieces and nephews called him Uncle Dave. He started his young working career at Richmond County Ambulance Service where some of his fondest memories were made. He then worked for CSX Railroad for a number of years and then decided to follow in his father’s footsteps as a commercial roofer until his failing health in 2009. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joel Brigman. Surviving are his son, John David McCuiston; grandsons, Christian and Cason McCuiston; brothers, Mark McCuiston (Kim), Johnny McCuiston; sisters, Gayle Brigman Freeman, Linda McCuiston Henslee: sister-in-law, Sylvia Brigman and numerous nieces and nephews. It seemed he had got up as usual and dressed and was kindling a fire in his room and dropped dead. He was laying just in front of the fireplace when his niece, Mrs. N. B. Guinn, entered his room about day-break. The neighbors were called in and found that he had been dead but a few minutes as his body was still warm. The major was a very quiet and good citizen, he had held office in this county for about thirty-four years, was Circuit Court Clerk for eighteen years, Register for eight years and was deputy clerk for eight years, he was very popular and hundreds of friends in Jefferson county will be sorry to hear of his death. He was about 76 years of age and had been living in Dandridge for more than fifty years. He was never married and has been living with his niece since the death of his sister in 1884. Debra retired as an operator for GTE and Verizon for 38 years. She loved camping by the river, watching the hummingbirds, reading a novel and just enjoying time with Otis our Shepard. She also enjoyed antique shopping. She will truly be missed by family and friends.
