279 | Anna Katherine “Kate” Hunt, 95, of Galveston, went home to be with the Lord at 4:30 a.m. Thursday, January 22, 2015 at her home. She was born August 18, 1919 in Galveston to Frank and Nellie F. (Scott) Graves. She married Charles D. Hunt on April 16, 1938 at Trinity Methodist Church Parsonage and he preceded her in death on Oct. 19. 2001. Kate was a farm wife and school teacher. She taught elementary school for 22 years and was a favorite teacher to many students. She graduated from Galveston High School in 1937. She then went on to Butler University where she earned her Bachelors Degree in 1962, and her Master’s degree in Education in 1968. She was a member of the Galveston United Methodist Church, the Cass County Historical Society, 4H Boosters Extension Homemakers Club, Cass County Retired Teachers Association, the Indiana State Retired Teacher’s Association, Farm Bureau, the American Legion Aux., Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Red Hat Society. She made the best cookies ever. She won an award at the State Fair for them. She also enjoyed traveling, watching Pacer and I.U. Basketball and going to her great grandkids’ ballgames. She is survived by two daughters, Cecelia (John) Francis, Galveston; Kathy (Jim) Gaddy, Missouri, four grandchildren, Nicci (David) Hicks, Galveston; Jenny (Bart) Hensley, Walton; Angie Francis, Galveston; and Tony Francis, Colorado; six great grandchildren, three foster grandchildren and several foster great grandchildren. Special cousins, Donna Jean Scott and Cleo and Bev Metcalf, also survived her. Kate was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles and two sons, Dale Eller Hunt and William H. Hunt. A celebration of Kate’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 26th at Galveston United Methodist Church, 515 S. Maple St. Galveston with Pastor Roy E. Ice officiating. Burial will follow at Galveston Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 – 6 p.m. Sunday January 25th at the church. Memorial contributions may be given to the Jackson Twp. Friendly Farmers 4H Club or the Jenny Lee Missionary Fund at Galveston United Methodist Church. 281 | Annelise Mary ""Anna"" Baker, 16, of Anderson, passed away Wednesday June 22, 2011 at her residence after an extended illness. She was born August 12, 1994 in Anderson and lived there all of her life. Anna attended Liberty Christian School and Indiana School for the Blind. She was a Sophmore in high school. She was a member of East Side Church of God in Anderson and a member of Henry County Hot Shot Power Soccer team. She loved to read; loved dogs; enjoyed time at Wawasee on her Boston Whaler and driving her Papa's 1964 convertible Lincoln Continental. The family especially thanks I.U. Health North Pediatric Staff; I.U. Health Ball Memorial Hospice team; Dr. Bruce Cohen; and special thanks to Dr. Kathleen Miller of Fishers Pediatrics and Valerie E. Petry. Survivors include her parents, Michael L. and Katherine ""Katie"" (Williams) Baker; two brothers, M. Scott Baker and Alec P. Baker, both of Anderson; maternal grandparents, Dr. V.R. ""Dick"" and Marilyn Williams of Winchester; paternal grandmother, Barbara Neuman of Anderson; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Philip H. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31, until the 6:30 p.m. funeral service at Lax Mortuary in Kankakee. The Rev. Fred Bryant will officiate. Burial will be Sunday, Sept. 2, in Springhill Cemetery, in Springhill, Miss. Annie Mae McCuiston was born May 22, 1923, in Lodi, Miss., the daughter of Joe Beckom and Ida Dell Brown Payton. She was baptized at Union Grove in Lodi, Miss., and was a member of Greater Emmanuel in Chicago, where she served as the Sunday school secretary and was on the Mother Board for more than 20 years. She completed the C.J. Walker School of Cosmetology and was a licensed beautician. Annie was united in holy matrimony to Stonewall McCuiston Sr. on Jan. 15, 1958, and to their union two children were born. She worked for Solo Light Company for 15 years and took care of her sister and family for many years. Annie was a great cook and baker and enjoyed church and her grandchildren. She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Dr. Stonewall McCuiston Jr. (Melinda), of Kankakee, and Phillip McCuiston (Adrianne), of Chicago; five grandchildren, Jenita, Stonewall III, Kenyatta, Albert and Joe; six great-grandchildren, Timothy, Jalen, Kelise, Khali, Niya and Kaeya; and many other relatives and friends.
