Elizabeth C. (Burry) Haynes passed into eternity on Tuesday, September 29 2009 at Shirkey Nursing Home, Richmond MO. She was born on April 2 1914 in Breckenridge, MO, and was the daughter of John P. and Eva (Hilt) Burry. When she was 4 years old, her mother Eva died and she then was raised by her uncle and aunt, Jacob and Mary Burry. She married Orval L. Haynes on July 24 1948. Orval died in 1989.

She was also preceded in death by her father, John P. Burry and her uncle and aunt, Jacob and Mary Burry.

Elizabeth graduated from Ludlow High School in 1931. After graduating, she worked for the Cleo Cola Bottling Co. in Chillicothe MO. She attended the Chillicothe Business College and then moved to Kansas City, where she attended Park College. She was employed by Employer's Reinsurance Corp. for 36 years. Elizabeth and Orval both retired in 1974 and enjoyed traveling to AZ, CO and south MO. She also enjoyed spending time many friends and family. She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was of the Christian faith.

Funeral services will be held Friday October 2, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Polley Funeral Home in Richmond, MO. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Richmond Memory Gardens. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Children's Mercy Hospital, Legacy Society of Kansas City, MO.

Orval (son of Benjamin Patton Haynes and Lula Florence Moyer) was born on 24 Jun 1914 in Richmond, Ray County, Missouri; died on 8 Aug 1989 in Clay County, Missouri; was buried on 11 Aug 1989 in Richmond, Ray County, Missouri.
