RUBY LOUISE ROBERTS MCQUISTON WILLIAMS OBITUARY
Ruby Ruth Louise Roberts McQuiston Williams, a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend; passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, January 16, 2023 at the age of 91. She was a resident of Bayou Sorrel and a native of Vicksburg, MS. Visitation will be held at Wilbert Funeral Home, Plaquemine on Thursday, January 19, 2023 from 5 to 8pm and will resume on Friday, January 20, 2023 from 9am until religious services at 12pm. Entombment will follow at Grace Memorial Park, Plaquemine. Ruby is survived by her children, Peggy McQuiston Paredes and husband Carlos, and Malcom McQuistion and wife Sheryl; stepchildren, Peach Martinez and husband Huey, Wilma Collins and husband Terry, Patsy Williams, Lisa Garvin, Johnny "Todlum" Williams, Jr. and wife Ann; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sisters, Bessie Pitre, and Estelle Welch; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Williams; sons, Hollis and Steve McQuiston; grandson, McCrea Morales; parents, Daniel and Bessie Elliott Roberts; and siblings. Pallbearers will be Tim, Tyler, David, and Thomas McQuiston, Hunter and Hayden Morales, Jaxx Paredes, and Brad Carlin. Ruby loved the Lord, reading the Bible and crocheting. Special thanks for Comfort Care Hospice and their staff, especially John, Jamie and Haley for their loving care.Children:

8. Samuel Augusta McQuiston was born on 11 Oct 1899 in Grand Lake, Louisiana (son of Thomas Nelson McQuiston and Amelina Philaptena Rivet); died on 6 Dec 1980 in Plaquemine, Louisiana; was buried in Plaquemine, Iberville Parish, Louisiana. Notes:
Samuel was referred to as "Mr. Tom" by some of the old timers in Bayou Sorrel, Louisiana. He was one of the first settlers of Bayou Sorrel. He settled on the point of Grand River and Bayou Sorrel. This was also known as the "Route of Attackapas". He had a front porch view of all the river traffic as it passed by. The old house he built in 1910 is still standing today. It is the oldest still standing structure in Bayou Sorrel. His heirs sold the house to Clayton Carline circa 1942.
