10. | Samuel Augusta McQuiston was born on 11 Oct 1899 in Grand Lake, Louisiana (son of Thomas Nelson McQuiston and Amelina Philaptena Rivet); died on 6 Dec 1980 in Plaquemine, Louisiana; was buried in Plaquemine, Iberville Parish, Louisiana. Notes: Samuel was referred to as "Mr. Tom" by some of the old timers in Bayou Sorrel, Louisiana. He was one of the first settlers of Bayou Sorrel. He settled on the point of Grand River and Bayou Sorrel. This was also known as the "Route of Attackapas". He had a front porch view of all the river traffic as it passed by. The old house he built in 1910 is still standing today. It is the oldest still standing structure in Bayou Sorrel. His heirs sold the house to Clayton Carline circa 1942. Samuel married Erminnie Senora Felps about 1920, and was divorced before 1927. Erminnie was born about 1906. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart] |
