Cynthia McCuiston and William McCuiston were married on 5 December 1820 in Guilford County, North Carolina.101 James McCuiston is listed on the bond with Jonathan Hanner listed as witness and Clerk of the County Court. They101 appeared in the census on 1 August 1850 in Calloway County, Kentucky.215 William McCuiston, son of Moses McCuiston and Elizabeth Blair, was born in 1794 in North Carolina.215 On 1 August 1850 he was a farmer in Calloway County, Kentucky.215 He signed a will on 1 December 1852 in Murray, Calloway County, Kentucky.216 In the name of God, Amen, I William McCuiston, of the county of Calloway, being sick and weak in body, but of sound mind and disposing memory, for which I thank God, and calling to mind the uncertainty of life, and being desirous to dispose of all such worldly estate as it hath pleased God to bless me with, I give and bequeath the same in the following manner, that is to say. Item list, after payment of just debts, I give to my wife Cynthia McCuiston, the following property, to wit, my residence with one quarter and a fraction of land; all household and kitchen furniture; all my stock of every description, together with the following negroes: my negro woman Jane; my girl Missouria; my boy Linsey, Pinkney, Allen and James. Also my waggon and oxen, for and during her natural life, and after her decease, I give the same to my children herein mentioned, equally to be divided among them; my daughter Emily Bucy, Levina Craig, Mary Jane Clark, Nancy Jane Smith, Elizabeth McCuiston, Sarah McCuiston; my sons John C. McCuiston and William McCuiston. Item 2, I give to my son John C. McCuiston, the following land, to with, the South west quarter of section twenty-eight Township one Range six East. Also, the North east quarter of section twenty-seven Township one Range six East, to him and his heirs forever. Item 3, I give to my son Robert McCuiston, one negro boy names Giles, to him and his heirs forever. And lastly, I do hereby constitute and appoint my son John C. McCuiston and William A. McCuiston, Executors of this my last will and testament.
