He died on 17 December 1859 at the age of 49 in Washington County, Arkansas.435 He was buried at Alabam Cemetery in Huntsville, Madison County, Arkansas.435 James has reference number RM 5075. LBM 1-398 James C. and his half-brother, Thomas McCuistion, were possibly sons of the Jefferson County, Tennessee, settlers. John Robert, son of Andrew, wrote that his grandfather (Andrew McCuistion [1-388]) and the grandfather of Reverend J. F. McCuistion were brothers and that they married sisters by the name of Rankin.

She appeared in the census on 5 June 1880 in Goshen Township, Washington County, Arkansas.439 She's listed as P. McQuistion, daughter; with the Sherrod family is a W. Machristian. She died on 11 February 1886 at the age of 67 in Washington County, Arkansas. Polly has reference number RM 8452.
