John Henderson McCuistion was born on 16 December 1847 in Ray County, Missouri.1350 He appeared in the census in the household of Lecil Bobo McCuistion and Sarah Chestnut on 16 October 1850 in Ray County, Missouri.626 Name moved place date.1350 He remained in Iowa a short time, then moved to Nebraska for about three months. From Nebraska he moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, staying there for only a short time. He then returned to his home in Ray County, Missouri. In 1870 he was a Farmer and Stockman in Richmond, Ray County, Missouri.1350 He owned two hundred acres of good, productive land, well fenced and inproved. His farm was nearly all sown in grass, forty acres in blue grass, and one hundred and twnety acres in timothy and clover. He fed from one hundred and fifty to two hundred head of cattle a year. John was ill with stroke of paralysis on 21 May 1925 in Chillicothe, Missouri.1351 John suffered a stroke, but "continued to improve. He is sufficiently recovered to be able to sit up in bed." He died on 20 January 1928 at the age of 80 in Chillicothe, Missouri. He was buried on 23 January 1928 in Edgewood Cemetery, Chillocothe, Missouri.1351 The funeral of John H. McCuistion was held from the family home, 1203 North Walnut Street, at 2:30 o'clock. A quartette of Mesdames Williamson, Norman, Dillinger, and Miss Della Cristison, sang 2 selections. The home was crowded with friends and family. Internment was at Edgewood. John has reference number (10-338).

John Henderson McCuistion and Mary Jane Wollard were married on 27 September 1870 in Ray County, Missouri.1350 Mary Jane Wollard, daughter of Thomas Wollard, was born on 2 April 1855. She died on 9 September 1922 at the age of 67.
