Thomas Lewis McCuiston was born on 1 July 1843 in Calloway County, Kentucky.513 He appeared in the census on 1 August 1850 in Calloway County, Kentucky.514 He appeared in the census on 29 August 1860 in New Concord, Calloway County, Kentucky.515 Thomas served in the military with the confederate army's Co. C., 33rd, TN Inf. during the Civil War.513 Thomas was listed as sick on the march from Kentucky to Knoxville, and was afterwards taken as a prisoner of war and spent a year at Camp Chase and at Johnson's Island, near Sandusky, OH.

He refused to take the oath of allegiance to the North and was held for exactly one year until exchanged and returned to Confederate service with the Trans MS Bn. His 33rd TN unit had suffered horrendous loss of life at Shiloh and had been merged with the 31st TN by the time of his release. He was a Farmer in New Concord, Calloway County, Kentucky. He died on 26 February 1894 at the age of 50.513 Thomas was buried at McCuiston Cemetery in Cypress Springs, Calloway County, Kentucky.513 He has reference number RM 3587. LBM 239-280

Thomas Lewis McCuiston and Lucy Caroline Worsham were married on 16 November 1870.513 Lucy Caroline Worsham, daughter of Peter Worsham and Betsy Barnett, was born on 11 August 1842 in Kentucky.1139 She appeared in the census on 4 June 1900 in Calloway County, Kentucky.1139 She died from lobular pneumonia on 23 March 1915 at the age of 72 in New Concord, Calloway County, Kentucky.1140 Lucy was buried on 24 March 1915 at McCuiston Cemetery in New Concord, Calloway County, Kentucky.1140 She has reference number RM 3617.
