Jane McCuistion and Thomas Flack were married in 1760 in North Carolina.10,21 Thomas Flack51 was born about 1735 in Pennsylvania or Maryland.9 He owned 481 acres of land in 1761 in Guilford County, North Carolina.51 Thomas Flack's land was on Walnut Branch, two miles north of Buffalo Presbyterian Church. After his marriage, he sold this place to John Chambers and located near Haw River Presbyterian Church (located on Robert Pritchett's place - old grave yard still there). Thomas joined this church. He was Presbyterian Church in 1761 in Guilford County, North Carolina.51 Thomas joined the Presbyterian Church near Haw River. The church members for some reason were unable to make the church grow and due to dissent a new church grew up called Gum Grove Church. This church was located on what we now call the Jackson Road. The Gum Grove Church, like the Haw River Church, didn't last. Friendship Church was then established and changed to the Methodist denomination. They named this Church Friendship because of their determination to make this church grow. Dissent had been the fall of the two other churches and on a friendship basis and love for fellow member caused the Friendship Church to be established.
